Trine Nilsen DC – proprietor of Chiropractie Rugkliniek Heerlen
I was born and raised in Oslo, Norway where I studied Anthropology before I moved to the US, to study Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa. After my graduation, I moved directly to The Netherlands where I in 1985 started Rugkliniek Heerlen. Since 1992, the clinic is operating at the present location, were the building is shaped in the form of a vertebra.
Chiropractic is a lifestyle for me. Every day I hope for a new challenge within my profession. The more difficult the case, the more it challenges me. I feel very fortunate to be able to help so many people with chiropractic. And the fact that I see people in all walks of life and sometimes can follow them from baby, to teenager, to being married and becoming parents themselves, is a pleasure in itself. I hope to have the pleasure of meeting and helping you too.
If you are not sure Chiropractic is the answer for your problem, please feel free to make an appointment for a free consultation. Then we can look into your situation together.
Onno Drenth M.Sc. (Chiro)
I was born en raised in Zonhoven, Belgium, but do have Dutch roots. I have been in contact with Chiropractic and manual medicine, via my father, from a very young age. I often heard stories of how he had helped patients and could also see how grateful many of them were for this. This stimulated me to go and study in England for 5 years at the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic. During my studies I was able to develop my love for sports on a professional level, which brought me to work at the London Triatlon and the Kurash world championship. After my studies, I returned to Belgium where I have done several seminars, increasing my knowledge in order to provide the best care to my patients.

I was born in South Dakota in the U.S.A. I grew up in a very small farming village. I studied Exercise Science and Biology as well as participated in college football and track and field. In my second year, I injured my back badly playing football and was unable to play football for some time. Then I discovered chiropractic. What a relief it was for me at this time, miraculously. I was able to play football for three more years; pain free and free of painkillers.
This experience was my calling to be a chiropractor and is why I am a chiropractor today.
I studies chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. After I graduated I worked in Dallas, TX and Nashville, helping people who had been in motor vehicle accidents. It was a great experience. I eventually opened my own practice. My patient base included newborns to the elderly, and included a few professional athletes in the National Football League and the UFC, including world champion Frank Shamrock.
In 2011, I was invited to work in the Netherlands. I took some time off to travel with my girlfriend and then I found the opportunity to work in Heerlen with Dr. Nilsen. After talking to her it seemed to me that we had very like-minded views on chiropractic and how to treat patients. It was very nice to get the opportunity to work here with her. The last three years I was fortunate to work with extraordinary chiropractors, from whom I learned much. In this trade you are never too old to learn.
I have been working for Rugkliniek Heerlen with great pleasure for more than ten years. Over the years, I have met a lot of different people with a lot of different physical complaints.
I have experienced, that these people get the help they need, they feel better and healthier and they experience a higher quality of life.
This is especially the case, when they have been fully attended to in the regular medical care and their doctors have indicated that they cannot be of further help to them anymore. Unfortunately, many patients have had to hear the phrase “learn to live with it” from their doctor(s).
It is very special to see that people are amazed to learn that it is not necessary to live with pain and discomfort. Thanks to our chiropractors’ ability to achieve more improvement than previously was considered possible.
Are you curious to see if chiropractic can help you?
Then you are more than welcome to make an appointment for a casual meet-and-greet with one of our chiropractors.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
I am born in Heerlen, where I am still a resident to this day. I am married to Hub and we have four lovely children who have all flown the nest.
Since April 2016, I have been working at chiropractic Rugkliniek Heerlen as a secretary. A new challenge for me, as I have studied at the music academy of Maastricht after secondary school.
Especially the close contact with the patients is of mayor importance to me. Informing them as well as possible is one of the most important tasks. For this, I form a tightly knit team with my secretary and chiropractor colleagues. Furthermore, clear communication is very important to me.
By now, I have also experienced that chiropractic can make a positive contribution to our health. It is remarkable to see people with severe pain smile again after a treatment.
Would you like to know if we can help you too?
Feel free to pay us a visit, you are more than welcome!
My name is Céline and I recently started working with the motivated team at Rugkliniek Heerlen,
as a secretary.
I live in Schinveld, together with my husband, our daughter and our cats and dogs.
I have, next to my job in the past, started to study the functions of the human body (including the area of supplementation) and working at the Rugkliniek Heerlen fits well with these interest.
I already knew Trine Nilsen D.C. as she helped me with my migraines, about 20 years ago. The heavy Migraines started at the age of 10, after I fell down from stairs. So I know first hand what Chiropractic can do!
I will gladly tell you more about my experience and I look forward to meeting you!
My name is Phil and I live in Kerkrade with my husband and our daughter.
In 2009 I completed the Tourism & Management bachelor program at Hogeschool Zuyd in Maastricht. From my graduation I worked in various positions, mostly commercial positions.
Before I worked at Chiropractie Rugkliniek Heerlen, I knew little about Chiropractic. I experienced that “pains with which I had learn to live” were treatable and even to be remedied. Because of this experience I am very motivated en enthusiastic to enlarge the knowledge of Chiropractic within the community.
Since January 2018, I have been working at Chiropractie Rugkliniek Heerlen. A pleasant working environment where the well-being of people is point of focus.
I hope to meet you soon!
