Trine Nilsen DC – proprietor of Chiropractie Rugkliniek Heerlen
I was born and raised in Oslo, Norway where I studied Anthropology before I moved to the US, to study Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Iowa. After my graduation, I moved directly to The Netherlands where I in 1985 started Rugkliniek Heerlen. Since 1992, the clinic is operating at the present location, were the building is shaped in the form of a vertebra.

Chiropractic is a lifestyle for me. Every day I hope for a new challenge within my profession. The more difficult the case, the more it challenges me. I feel very fortunate to be able to help so many people with chiropractic. And the fact that I see people in all walks of life and sometimes can follow them from baby, to teenager, to being married and becoming parents themselves, is a pleasure in itself. I hope to have the pleasure of meeting and helping you too.

If you are not sure Chiropractic is the answer for your problem, please feel free to make an appointment for a free consultation. Then we can look into your situation together.

Talitha Marx DC
My career started in the financial sector and I developed an interest in the human body while attending sports classes. I completed a BASI (Body Arts and Science Institute) training, followed by several massage therapy degrees, before starting my Chiropractic studies at the University of Johannesburg. I completed this with a Master Cum Laude in Chiropractic.

I find chiropractic an effective tool in the treatment and prevention of sports injuries, improving sporting performance and endurance. My interest in sports comes from my personal involvement in many sports activities such as cycling, dancing and Pilates.
I am particularly interested in women’s health, pediatric and geriatric care and care for the whole family. Emphasis is placed on identifying the core problem and finding a permanent solution to prevent recurrence. For example, I would like to provide the whole family with quality care for the musculoskeletal system, necessary for a pain-free daily life.

My emphasis is on strengthening the weak links, correcting posture, maintenance and ergonomics of daily life, including possible rehabilitation exercises.
I am a passionate Chiropractor and very dedicated to my patients.

Matthew Breske DC
I was born in South Dakota in the U.S.A. I grew up in a very small farming village. I studied Exercise Science and Biology as well as participated in college football and track and field. In my second year, I injured my back badly playing football and was unable to play football for some time. Then I discovered chiropractic. What a relief it was for me at this time, miraculously. I was able to play football for three more years; pain free and free of painkillers.

This experience was my calling to be a chiropractor and is why I am a chiropractor today.
I studies chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. After I graduated I worked in Dallas, TX and Nashville, helping people who had been in motor vehicle accidents. It was a great experience. I eventually opened my own practice. My patient base included newborns to the elderly, and included a few professional athletes in the National Football League and the UFC, including world champion Frank Shamrock.

In 2011, I was invited to work in the Netherlands. I took some time off to travel with my girlfriend and then I found the opportunity to work in Heerlen with Dr. Nilsen. After talking to her it seemed to me that we had very like-minded views on chiropractic and how to treat patients. It was very nice to get the opportunity to work here with her. The last three years I was fortunate to work with extraordinary chiropractors, from whom I learned much. In this trade you are never too old to learn.

I’m from São Paulo, Brazil. I learned about chiropractic when I was 17, a time when the profession was still very new in my country. But as soon as I knew more about it, I decided that I would continue in this profession for the rest of my life.

Vivian Roca D.C.
I studied at Feevale University in the south of Brazil, where I graduated in 2007. I then continued my studies in the field of neuroscience, where I obtained a Master’s degree from the Federal University of ABC and had the opportunity to travel and carry out this work in Canada.

Through my academic and professional development over the years, I received an invitation to teach and served as a professor of chiropractic at Anhembi Morumbi University in Brazil for two and a half years. I have completed several further training courses, which have allowed me to delve even further into the sciences involved and related to chiropractic.

I have also worked as a volunteer chiropractor in communities in São Paulo, which has allowed me to impact even more lives outside of the doctor’s office, either by relieving chronic pain or by making other young people aware of this incredible profession.

I saw Chiropractie Rugkliniek Heerlen as a way to broaden my horizons within the chiropractic profession and so I moved to the Netherlands with my husband and children in July 2023.

Chiropractic inspires me enormously, I love that I can use my hands to help many people who live with pain and who often cannot find help for their complaints. I treat people of all ages, from pain prevention to chronic problems.

I have been working for Rugkliniek Heerlen with great pleasure for almost fifteen years. Over the years, I have met a lot of different people with a lot of different physical complaints.
I have experienced, that these people get the help they need, they feel better and healthier and they experience a higher quality of life.

This is especially the case, when they have been fully attended to in the regular medical care and their doctors have indicated that they cannot be of further help to them anymore. Unfortunately, many patients have had to hear the phrase “learn to live with it” from their doctor(s).

It is very special to see that people are amazed to learn that it is not necessary to live with pain and discomfort. Thanks to our chiropractors’ ability to achieve more improvement than previously was considered possible.

Are you curious to see if chiropractic can help you?
Then you are more than welcome to make an appointment for a casual meet-and-greet with one of our chiropractors.

I look forward to meeting you soon!

Ernie
I am born in Heerlen, where I am still a resident to this day. I am married to Hub and we have four lovely children who have all flown the nest.

Since April 2016, I have been working at chiropractic Rugkliniek Heerlen as a secretary. A new challenge for me, as I have studied at the music academy of Maastricht after secondary school.

Especially the close contact with the patients is of mayor importance to me. Informing them as well as possible is one of the most important tasks. For this, I form a tightly knit team with my secretary and chiropractor colleagues. Furthermore, clear communication is very important to me.

By now, I have also experienced that chiropractic can make a positive contribution to our health. It is remarkable to see people with severe pain smile again after a treatment.

Would you like to know if we can help you too?
Feel free to pay us a visit, you are more than welcome!

Céline
My name is Céline and since oktober 2017 I have been working with the motivated team at Rugkliniek Heerlen, as a secretary.
I live in Schinveld, together with my husband, our daughter and our cat and dogs.

I have, next to my job in the past, started to study the functions of the human body (including the area of supplementation) and working at the Rugkliniek Heerlen fits well with these interest.

I already knew Trine Nilsen D.C. as she helped me with my migraines, about 20 years ago. The heavy Migraines started at the age of 10, after I fell down from stairs. So I know first hand what Chiropractic can do!

I will gladly tell you more about my experience and I look forward to meeting you!
