What is Chiropractic?<\/h1>\n

Chiropractic is a medical science, based on traditional medical knowledge. However, Chiropractic differentiates itself from traditional medicine in the way in which the science is applied. The chiropractor aids healing by influencing the central nervous system. The central nervous system regulates everything in our body; every cell, every organ and bodily function.<\/p>\n

Individuals do not become ill the moment the symptoms show themselves. They acquire the symptoms because they are already ill; symptoms, as such, are not the cause of the illness, but the consequences. It therefore follows that the treatment of the symptoms cannot heal that individual. Chiropractors go in search of the causes of the illness instead of trying to fight the symptoms.<\/p>\n

Our brain communicates with the rest of our body via the central nervous system (spine); therefore, the chiropractor primarily uses the spine to influence the nervous system. Before the body becomes ill, it must be out of balance. An imbalance in the body can often be caused by an obstruction in the spinal column. Chiropractors specialize in the detection and repair of these obstructions which cause disorders and irritations in the nervous system.<\/p>\n
